Full-Service Moving · Recent

Art and his Team were very professional. They handled all items with care, were honest with how long it would take to pack, and were very flexible. I encourage others to use them for all of their moving needs. Thanks Elmers!

We serve all 16 San Diego County cities: San Diego, Chula Vista, Oceanside, Escondido, Carlsbad, Temecula, El Cajon, Vista, San Marcos, Encinitas, National City, La Mesa, Santee, Poway, La Jolla, and Imperial Beach. We're based on Twain Ave in San Diego and route crews across the county every day.
Yes — when crew capacity allows, we book same-day local moves. Last-minute relocations (eviction deadlines, broken escrow, surprise lease changes) are routine. Call (619) 567-5497 and Art will check the schedule with you on the spot. No emergency surcharge — same hourly rate as scheduled moves.
Local moves run $120–$240 per hour with a 2-mover crew, truck, blankets, and standard packing materials included. Most apartment moves complete in 3–5 hours; a 3-bedroom house typically runs 6–8 hours. 2-hour minimum plus travel time. Long-distance moves are binding estimates ($2,500–$9,500 typical from San Diego to out-of-state).
Yes. Elmer's Moving holds a Cal-T number with the California Bureau of Household Goods and Services (BHGS) for intrastate moves, plus USDOT and MC numbers for interstate transport. We carry general liability and cargo insurance on every move. CA movers are regulated by BHGS — not CSLB — and many movers don't display either; we do.
Local moving, long-distance moving, office and commercial moving, packing and unpacking, loading and unloading (labor-only — POD, U-Haul, container), specialty and fragile moves (piano, gun safe, antiques, fine art), in-home furniture rearrangement, and short or long-term storage.
Elmer's is owner-operated by Art with 10+ years of San Diego moving experience. Art personally oversees every move — no day-laborers, no faceless dispatcher. Transparent hourly rates, binding long-distance estimates, and full Cal-T / USDOT / MC licensing displayed up front. We treat your belongings as if they were our own.
Yes. We support military families moving to and from Naval Base San Diego, NAS North Island, MCRD, and Camp Pendleton. Bring us your orders and we'll work the timeline and the paperwork (GBL, PPM, weight tickets, base access). USDOT and MC registered for cross-state moves.
1–2 weeks of lead time is comfortable. For peak season (June–August — graduation, military PCS, summer family moves) book 4+ weeks ahead. For long-distance moves, allow 3–4 weeks. Same-day local moves are possible when capacity allows.
That's our labor-only service. $100–$180 per hour for a 2-mover crew, 2-hour minimum. You provide the truck or container; we bring dollies, blankets, and straps. Same crew that runs full moves — we just skip our truck.
